The Florida Keys are a perfect place to escape.  Driving down from Miami first you venture down the 2-lane highway which meanders past the everglades and then opens into Florida Bay.  Breathtaking.  One of our favorite adventures is to kayak off of Marathon Key.  Launching from Sombrero Beach, there is an island of mangroves.  From here you enter into a maze of canopy-lined trails; heading every which way.  There are no signs guiding you which way to turn.  You keep your bearings based on the sun and the current.  This is truly being one with nature.
