ABOUT MARK

As a commercial photographer Mark has traveled the world taking photos for corporate America. Later Mark opened a photo studio specializing in product photography. With his 4x5 view camera, and a cloth draped over his head, Mark viewed things upside down and backwards. These were the days before Photoshop and everything needed to be done in camera; multiple exposures were the norm.

These were also the days when newspaper advertising ruled. Most ads were in B&W, so Mark adopted Ansel Adam’s Zone System. A method of calibrating your film to your darkroom chemicals to your paper. The Zone System gave you details in both the whites and the blacks. At the time studio photographers spent their days shooting and their nights in the darkroom.

After opening his first advertising agency in 1987, photography once again became a hobby; always traveling the world with an SLR, various lenses and a tripod. The world of digital photography opened new doors and new creativity allowing Mark to elicit the emotion of an experience.

Today, Mark owns a tech company that specializes in web sites for Realtors across the USA. This affords him the flexibility to travel, shoot and run his business from anywhere around the world.
